Micro Piles & Mini Piles

Helical Piles

American Foundation & Basement Repairs, LLC has expert solutions to sinkhole repair in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Asheville, Johnson City, and Cookeville through the use of mini or micro piles. Mini piles or micropiles (also known as lightweight piles) are a specialized subset of piling which include various kinds of driven piles and screwpiles. They are a relatively new product outcome of the original screw pile, but have numerous advantages over its precursor. In addition to being less costly, they have proven to be much more versatile in nearly every situation.

Save Time & Money With Mini Piling

Increasingly, mini piling is a remedy which saves contractors time on challenging underpinning jobs involving sinkhole repair. It makes convenient and reliable piling readily available for the most demanding applications on sites which might otherwise preclude piling. Mini or micro versions are more compact than standard screw piles and can therefore be placed in restricted spaces without difficulty.

Benefits Of Micro & Mini Piles For Your Building

There are numerous benefits that our micro and mini piles can provide which traditional foundation repair systems cannot, these include:

  • They can be used whenever ground conditions are unsuitable
  • Excavation or removal of soil isn't required.
  • A solution for when conventional piles would be too large to utilize.
  • A good alternative when such things as ground borne vibration have to be avoided.
  • When access is restricted for anything but specialized devices.
  • If a structure might be susceptible to significant overturning moments.
  • Solution for when environmental constraints apply (particularly noise and fumes).

For such applications, these types of piles provide a hassle-free, flexible alternative to standard piling. In many situations, miniature piling provides the only practical option for a long-lasting, dependable and cost-effective solution.

No Issues With Smaller Business Lots

Just like helical piles and push piers, micropiles can be set up in limited access areas with fairly small equipment. This ability to move makes them ideally fitted for foundation repair uses. Portable equipment has been designed to allow for access to basements as well as other low overhead applications where soils or access is restricting to other more traditional methods of foundation repair. Having decided on this path, the next task is to identify a suitable professional - preferably one with breadth and depth of experience across the design, manufacture and installing of mini piles.
