Wall Braces

Wall Bracer

American Foundation & Basement Repairs, LLC offers wall braces and anchors for bowed walls, major wall cracks, and other issues caused by a settling or failing foundation. Depending on the situation, your expert foundation repair contractor may suggest bracing or anchoring. Wall braces are steel beams connected to the interior walls in your basement or crawl space to stabilize the location. Anchoring, meanwhile, consists of sending a steel rod down through the foundation into the ground down below. The bottom of the rod anchors the foundation, while the surface of the rod is connected to the walls to ensure that they're straight. We provide expert wall bracing services to the Knoxville, Chattanooga, Asheville, Johnson City, and Cookeville areas.

American Foundation and Basement Repair utilizes the patented PowerBrace™ System from Foundation Supportworks. These wall braces effectively stabilize your basement walls, in turn safeguarding your biggest investment, your home. Heavy-duty, zinc-plated steel beams are custom-fit for your basement wall height. The beam will then be secured tightly against your basement wall with heavy-duty steel brackets which are secured to your basement flooring and floor joists. The steel beams will support the wall in its current position, without any additional adjustment. A distinctive, patented approach to the PowerBrace design is the power to continue to tighten the system over time and throughout the dry season for possible wall improvement.

Anti-Rust Material Plating

Wall Braces

To protect the foundation repair system from rust, all pieces of the Foundation Supportworks PowerBrace System are zinc-plated as outlined by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) B633 standards for zinc coatings on steel. The majority of steel beam systems provided by foundation repair contractors are set up using black, un-coated steel or painted steel. Unprotected steel provides hardly any resistance to rust, resulting in a rusted and unappealing system in your basement living area and possible health problems.

Advantages to our Wall Braces

  • Can be set up year-round
  • Most jobs finished in one day
  • No disturbance to your home, yard, and landscaping
  • No outside excavation needed
  • Long life span - zinc coated steel is resistant to rust
  • Warrants your walls will not bow/tilt-in any further
  • Reestablishes property value

Carbon Fiber As An Alternative Brace

Carbon Fiber Wall Support

In addition to metal wall braces, carbon fiber wall supports can be used where space is limited, and a strong, but easy on the eyes repair is desired. The CarbonArmor™ Wall Reinforcing System from American Foundation reinforces and stabilizes your basement walls, restoring value and integrity to your home. The CarbonArmor™ System is a Fiber-Reinforced Polymer that is 10 times stronger than steel and is specifically designed for basement walls.

The carbon fiber technology used in the CarbonArmor™ system is the same technology used by the US Department of Defense, Army Corp of Engineers and aerospace engineers to reinforce skyscrapers, bomb shelters and bridges around the world. Learn more about carbon fiber wall supports here.
